Computer lab |
BFM computer lab is equipped with 14 seats of iMac 21.5” (2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 8GB SDRAM) and Final Cut Studio software. The stations are used during lectures and practical training, and for off-line editing. All computers are part of a central storage area network (SAN) and can access media files stored on a 20 TB media server.
Computer lab has Apple Authorised Training Centre‘s certificate. |
Editing rooms |
Students can edit their film and TV projects in five sound proof editing rooms using Final Cut Studio 2 on Mac Pro (2×2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” CPU, 8GB SDRAM) workstations. Each system has two 24″ DELL LCD monitors. To guarantee the standardized sound monitoring across the post production cycle, the editing suites and sound editing studios are equipped with Genelec 8030A active monitors.
The Fifth Editing Suite (214-V) workstation is equipped with Blackmagic Multibridge Extreme input/output card. |
Sound studios |
Students have access to three sound studios (9 m² each). All studios are equipped with Steinberg Nuendo software. The 3rd studio additionally runs ProTools LE software and includes 5.1 surround sound capacity . Genelec active monitors (8030A and 7050B subwoofer) are used for stereo sound monitoring.
Sound studios use Neumann TLM103 microphones and Aphex 207D HD microphone preamps. Input/output cards include LYNX TWO A, MOTU 28mkII and Digidesign Mbox. Video monitoring comes through Philips 32″ HD-ready LCD TV’s and sound monitoring is controlled through Mackie 1202 VLZ soundmixers. Sound Effects The School owns licenses to Sound Ideas Sound Effects Series 6000 Collection for student productions. The sound files are stored in the central media server and can be accessed from all sound studios. |
